The Pass road of the Great St. Bernard Pass is well developed and has a central reservation throughout. The upper section, after the turn-off to the tunnel entrance, is characterized by several curves, some of which have a certain gradient, but are pleasant to drive. The only unpleasant section of the Pass road is the approximately 4-kilometer-long gallery on the north side of the pass. The lanes there are quite narrow and there are hardly any hard shoulders, which makes driving through a little more challenging.
